For those of you who would like to secure lodging near the meeting, the Oakland City Center Marriott is located only 3 blocks from the Conference Center. Summit attendees qualify for a reduced rate as guests of the University of California Office of the President, pending availability (call to request). Reduced rates are between $140 and $190 per night.

Directions:
From the Palace Hotel (location of SSP conference) to the Conference Center, in case you have booked an extra night in SF.
You will take the BART train (Richmond or Bay Point) from the Montgomery Station, SF to 12th Street City Center, Oakland. Train schedule:

Choose "Conference Center" in the left menu, then click on the "click here" link in the 4th paragraph of the description of the Center. The map displayed actually shows the location of the East Bay Community Foundation main office, which is quite close to the Conference Center itself. Locate Frank Ogawa Plaza on the map. The Conference Center will be on your left as you walk toward San Pablo from the corner of Broadway and 14th.
